Interlude: Jack in trouble?!

((Audio by the talented http://askjackandjilly.tumblr.com ))

Moonfalora groaned and opened her eyes slowly. Her vision blurry for a moment as it adjusted to the dim shade. She frowned, staying still for now. She breathed deeply, gazing around. Chests and oddities littered what she deduced was the inside of a caravan. She could hear voices outside, male and female.

She pulled herself up lightly, hissing at the throbbing she felt at her temples. She wasn’t bound or anything, so she figured they were friendly. As she sat up, she blinked and looked behind her. A small pink pegasus, a little filly, was staring at her. After a moment, she beamed, disappearing behind the cloth that covered the caravan.

“Mommy, mommy, she’s awake!” She could hear the filly cry out. A laugh echoed, steps being taken in her direction heard. Soon enough, a dark green mare with a brown mane peeked inside the caravan. Moonfalora had sat up and was looking at the other curiously, and confused.

“Well, thank goodness yer’ alright. Ye’v been outta it fer three days, lass.” The green mare said, smiling. Moon’s ears flicked forward as she spoke. She certainly had a strange accent. Definitely from not anywhere close to Ponyville.

“Three days?” She cringed and lowered lightly, one hoof to her head with a wince. Moonfalora opened one eye as the other mare said something. The caravan stopped moving soon after. “I’m Catreya, please come out, we’ll treat yer head.”

Moonfalora stood up and slowly walked out of the caravan, hopping down onto the ground. She noticed her bruises had been healed up. She rose an eyebrow lightly, following after Catreya. “Ah, I’m Moonfalora..Huh, thank you for picking me up..”

“It’s alright lass, we say you fallin’ in the ditch. Yer lucky we did.” She shot him a smile. A few other ponies watched the two walk to the back of the line, where the last caravan was. “Divinity, our passenger is awake!” She called out.

‘Divinity?’  She blinked and looked as a purple mare with a pinkish mane jumped out. The symbole of an Ahnk was her cutie mark. Pushing her mane out of the way, she noticed the horn sitting atop her head. It emitted a faint blueish glow as she neared Moonfalora, smiling. “Finally, darling.” She smiled, brushing the tip of her horn against Moon’s temple.

“We were worried. You’ve been out for…”

“Three days, yes..Miss Catreya told me.” Moon finished for her. Her head wasn’t hurting anymore. “Thank you for picking me up. And healing me.” She added as an after thought. She glanced around. There were three caravans and each were pulled by a single stallion.

“If you don’t mind me asking, are you going somewhere?” Moon asked curiously. Divinity smiled, whipping her mane for a moment. “We are gypsies. We go everywhere. I think the question would be where are you going?”

Moon blinked and frowned, kicking a pebble on the ground. “I’m afraid I can not tell. It is a very important mission and I can’t tell details.” Hopefully they would believe her. It was not a complete lie, but it wasn’t fully the truth either.

Divinity blinked and smiled knowingly, quickly changing the subject. “We’re currently heading to the city of Calihoovesnia. We’re going to set up camp there for a few weeks, give a show.” She smiled, hopping back onboard her caravan. “You’re welcome to join us, of course.”

Moonfalora looked over at Catreya curiously, who nodded and smiled. “The more the merrier, ah always say.” She smiled faintly. “Well, I guess I can tag along for a bit. I’m heading to the mountains of Stallionales.” Catreya nodded her head. “We’ll be glad to have ye along until then.”

Moon smiled faintly, following beside Catreya as the group of gypsies started moving again to their destination. They spoke of everything and nothing. She had made a couple of friends it seemed, and she was glad for their company.

Moonfalora had been cleaning herself up and bandaged her wounds until her ears flicked lightly. She looked outside, seeing the grey clouds approaching fast from behind the mountains. She felt a twinge in her heart. She had left without saying good bye to anyone.

Not even Jack.

She felt perhaps a bit guilty, but she was not a fair maiden in distress. She could take care of herself. With a last look to the mountains, she opened her door and headed towards the stairs until her ears perked up voices. She frowned and came to an halt, listening quietly.

At the lower part of the inn, three colts sat together. They had black manes and their pelt color all a different shade of midnight blue. One had a cutie mark of a dagger, another had a cross bow and the last had a trap hole.

“Hey, hey, we should check that mare out. She had a big bag. There’s probably plenty of goodies in there!” He said to the tallest of the trio with the dagger cutie mark. “Perhaps, Digger, perhaps. But we need a plan..”

The middle height pony with a crossbow shook a hoof, looking uninterested. “I don’t know Edge, this seems like a waste of time.”

“Everything is a waste of time for you, Eagle Eye.” Replied Edge. Eagle Eye frowned and pouted lightly. Edge, the dagger cutie mark pony stood up. “Let’s go, I heard the innkeeper say she was in room 4.”  The other two colts followed after their leader, Edge.

Moonfalora frowned and backed up going back into her room quickly. Closing the door, she pushed the dresser infront of it. It would hold them trio for a moment, but she could not stay there. She rushed around the room, gathering her things. She made sure she had her map, of all things and opened the window.

“Hey, girly! Open the door and play with us!” Called out Digger, trying to knock the door open. She narrowed her eyes and growled, looking down from the window. It wasn’t too high, she’d be able to make the jump. Taking a deep breath, she jumped out of the window and landed on her hooves with a hunf sound. Quickly, she darted off down the path and away from the inn.

“Hey, hey! She’s getting away!” Eagle Eye said once they had made it into the room and pushed the dresser out of the way. Edge looked up at the sky, just as Digger and Eagle Eye were both ready to chase after her. “Nevermind her. Nopony is crazy enough to go into the storm. We’ll loot her things, from her dead body tommorow.” He laughed, going to the door and closing it. They’d have a free room for the night.

‘In retrospect, running out into this storm was not the brightest ideas I’ve ever had.’ Moonfalora thought to herself as she was now walking against the wind. It was whipping at her, making tears creep into her eyes and roll down her cheeks from how violent it was. Ponyville was, indeed, sheltered with some of the magic. She had never felt something so strong before. It reminded her of her accident.

She shook her head, pressing forward and crossing, slowly and painfully, a bridge, The dirt path was beyond muddy and her bandages were soaked into mud and rain water. A small groan escaped her lips. The path was getting slippery and by now, she had slipped or fallen quite a few times, and getting back up was getting harder each time. Mud clung to her legs and body. A harsh gust of wind made her turn her head to the side with a wince.

She lost her footing again, tumbling and yelping in surprise down into a ditch. She hit her head on the ground hard. She hardly registered the steps that neared her. In her blurry vision, she saw a group of ponies, before she completely passed out, a mare’s voice ringing in her head.

Let me make this clear, to whoever the anon is.

I will not ever reply to any rape asks. Or those attempting to rape Moon.

Rape is not funny. It’s not something I like joking about either. So let me make the message clear for you.

Cut. Your. Shit. Out.

If I get any more of those anons, I’m going to just close this account. I’m doing this for fun. Not so you can get your fapping material to my character.

Thank you.

Have a nice day.

Jack laid upon his stomach, panting. His eyes were closed tightly as he tried to catch his breath. Crossing the Everfree Forest had been, he found out, not as easy as he first thought.

Oh man…I almost ran into poison joke. And the Hydra? I won’t even go there!

He sighed and opened his eyes to look behind him. He had managed to climb a bit up the trail of the mountain side. Something caught his eye, as he stood up. Curiously, ignoring his dirty and thorn outfit for now, he walked up to it.

He squinted his eyes as he took a closer look. Strands of blue mane? Moon has been through here! …She sure is smart, leaving a hint behind like that!

Jack beamed at his train of thoughts. With his magic, he picked the strands of mane and put them in the pocket of his vest near his heart. With a sigh, but now even more determined than ever, Jack started to make his way up the trail. He looked up at the sky, as dark clouds started to form.

He wouldn’t make it to the other side at his pace. He was exhausted from escaping the dangers before. With his remaining strenght, he dug into the rock with his magic a simple shelter for the night. Laying down, he looked out, lost in his thoughts.

Don’t worry Moon..I’ll save you..

With that last thought, he laid his head down and closed his eyes to rest for the night.

Moonfalora huffed and puffed as she walked up the rocky trail along side the mountain chain. She shook her mane out of her face. She leant against the mountain side as a violent gust of wind picked up, pushing her even more against the rocky surface.

She grunted softly, sharp rocks poking at her skin and adding to her bruised legs. When the wind died down, she started walking again. She understood now, why the few ponies traveled this path. It was treachorous. The random gusts of winds, as well as the narrow path. It was a dangerous treck.

But she would press on. Moonfalora was determine. With the sun up high in the sky, beating down on her, she was glad she had a cloak to protect her from the beating rays. After a quick moment to rest and a quick drink of water, she began on her way again. The sun had started to set by now, and she had made her way to the bottom.

The pegasus had found the way down to be easier then the way up. She sighed softly, seeing the small inn coming up in view. Quietly, she pushed the door open and went to the host of the place. “Welcome lass, to The Pig and Whistle.” He said. “How can I help you?”

Moonfalora looked around. “A room for the night, please.” She put the amount of bits requested on the counter and trotted off to her assigned room. Once there, she spent her time patching up her small injuries as best as she could. She looked out the window, as the bright sky was painted with oranges and red. A dash of purple here and there. From afar, behind the mountains she had cross, she heard the faint sound of thunder.
